THE FESTIVAL

Foodville: Afro-Caribbean Food Fest is vibrant cultural celebration, designed to promote a sense of pride and appreciation for the rich culinary traditions and heritage of African and Caribbean communities. With a commitment to fostering cultural exchange and understanding among diverse communities, Foodville aims to create a sense of unity and inclusivity through the shared experiences of food, music, and art.

Entrepreneurs from various backgrounds, including chefs, restaurant owners, artisans, performing artists, and visual artists, are highlighted and supported at this event. The festival features a market showcasing cultural cuisine from African and Caribbean communities, along with products crafted by local artisans.

The Main Stage comes alive with the infectious rhythms of Caribbean music, Afrobeat, Hip-Hop, and R&B. The stage will host 4-5 local performing artists, accompanied by a lineup of diverse DJs to keep the crowd engaged. Additionally, attendees can enjoy steel pan performances and a masquerade band appearance, adding to the festive atmosphere of Foodville.

THE ORGANIZERS

Black Owned Toronto is a company dedicated to uplifting and growing small-scale black-owned businesses. The company started as an online directory on Instagram and has accumulated a large following with over 70k supporters. Since the start, Black Owned Toronto has expanded to brick-and-mortar stores located in Scarborough Town Centre, Square One Mall, and Eaton Centre.

Black Owned Black Owned Toronto has partnered with Private Cay Media to produce Foodville.

Private Cay Media is an event production and marketing company that has generated over 1m in revenue and over 20k guests for its clients in the past 12 months. Private Cay Media also owns and operates Cay Radio; A well-known music and entertainment platform started in 2018. The brand has been responsible for some of the city’s best podcasts, DJ mix shows, and artist showcases.
